More calls for electricians, from a sparky who gets it.

I'm an electrician myself, doing rewires and EICRs. I built my own firm's site and Google profile first. Here's what gets electricians found in Scotland, and what I'd set up for you.

What do people search when they need an electrician?

Mostly the job and the town: "electrician near me", "EICR Motherwell", "rewire cost Glasgow", "consumer unit replacement", "EV charger installer". Each money job needs its own page. A single "Services" page listing everything you do usually ranks for none of it.

Where should my SELECT or NICEIC number go?

In plain text on every page, not just as a logo. Customers check the register. Google and AI tools read text, not images, so a logo strip on its own tells them nothing. I put your registration number in the footer and on each service page, linked to your entry on the register.

Should an electrician put prices on their website?

Yes, as a range. One sentence giving your usual price for a three-bed rewire, and what pushes it up or down, is the line customers look for. It's also what ChatGPT and Google's AI answers quote back. I write the ranges with you from your own figures, with the caveats you'd give on the phone.

Is there a quick win for landlord work?

Usually, yes. Private landlords in Scotland need an electrical safety inspection at least every five years under the Repairing Standard, and letting agents search for EICR contractors in bulk. A clear EICR page for landlords and agents, with your turnaround time and price, is one of the easiest pages to get ranking.

What I'd set up for an electrician

  • A website built from scratch if you don't have one yet, or your current one kept and fixed
  • Pages for your money jobs: rewires, EICRs, consumer units, EV chargers, fault finding
  • Google Business Profile with "Electrician" as the main category and every service listed
  • Your registration number visible and linked, plus your Part P or Building Standards details where they apply
  • Real job photos of boards, rewires and installs, tagged with the town
  • Tap-to-call on every page and a QR review card for the van

Have you done this for an electrician before?

Yes, for myself first. Pearson Electrical is my own domestic electrical business in Motherwell, with the same site, Google profile and tap-to-call setup I'd give you.

Send me your site. I'll show you where the rewires are going.

Got a website? Send me the address and the towns you work in. Within 48 hours, I'll send back where you rank on Maps against three local electricians, how your reviews compare and the top three fixes. It's free and yours to keep.

It comes straight to Zak. No newsletter, and your details aren't passed on.

No website yet? I'll build you one. A 5-page site made for your trade and your towns, with your Google profile set up alongside it. It's part of First Fix: £595, or £295 with a monthly plan. Just send me your trade and the towns you cover.
