What do people search when they need a bricklayer?
Usually the job and the town: "bricklayer near me", "garden wall builder East Kilbride", "repointing Motherwell", "brick extension cost". Each of those needs its own page. A single page that says "all aspects of brickwork" ranks for none of them.
Do bricklayers need a website if most work comes from builders?
If you only sub for builders, maybe not. But the domestic jobs (garden walls, extensions, chimneys, repointing) come from homeowners searching on Google. Those jobs are often better paid, and they go to whoever shows up on Maps with photos and reviews.
What should a bricklayer's site show?
Close-up photos of your finish, with the town named. Pointing, coursing and corners tell a customer more than any sentence can. Before-and-after shots of repointing and rebuilt walls are especially strong.
What I'd set up for a bricklayer
- A website built from scratch if you don't have one yet, or your current one kept and fixed
- Pages for your money jobs: extensions, garden and boundary walls, repointing, chimney repairs
- Google Business Profile with the right main category and every service listed
- A photo gallery per job type, captioned with town and materials
- Monthly photo posts to Google from jobs you've just finished
- A QR review card to hand over when the job's done
